How Can we
Help You
The Art Academy of Garden City offers a strong foundation in the visual arts in a relaxed and nurturing atmosphere. Art Academy students are introduced to principles of composition, design, form, line, and color. The sound basic training and professional guidance provided by the Art Academy enables students to experience artistic growth.
All classes will be taught by experienced teachers/artists Melissa Pashayan and Laura Pashayan.
Students are placed in class according to grade. Earlier grades are introduced to drawing with pencil, charcoal, ink, and pastels. Acrylics and watercolors are used to explore various painting techniques. Later grades build on their drawing skills with emphasis on individual expression. As students advance in later grades, they further develop their technical skills in drawing and painting while exploring individual direction using still life, portrait, figure and perspective.
